Craftsman

Maker: Sheaffer

This page refers to the Balance model using this name.  You may be looking for a sub-model of TriumphTouchdown, or TipDip

The Craftsman was just about the bottom of the line-up, beat out only by the Junior.  The earlier pens of this model had points marked simply 3, but near the transition to the Triumph era this became a 33… if not after.

Production Run: 1938 – 1942 (the shape of this model changed substantially in the Triumph era).

Cost When New: $3.50 (for modern value, try this calculator).

Size: 13.9 cm long capped, 15.7 cm posted, 11.5 cm uncapped.

Point: 14k gold.

Body: Celluloid.

Filler: Lever, capacity approx. 1.0 ml or vacuum filler, capacity approx. 1.5 ml

Sheaffer Craftsman Balance, grey pearl striated. I swapped out the point in this one for one with tipping, as someone has broken the tipping off the original.  My reward for this industry is that the replacement is a factory stub.

Sheaffer Craftsman, vacuum filler, black. The numbers under the barrel impression are a price code, not a model number.
