Brown ink can play somewhat upon one’s mistaken notions of nostalgia, since it is bound up in the phrase “sepia-tinted”. Brown is also, when thinking of a palate for artistic endeavour, sometimes perceived as somewhat dull; this is a prejudice one should dispel, though, there are some really smashing brown inks to be had.
