Waterman Champion 501

Blue pen with gold furniture

This is another of my disappointing entries, which displays to all my lack of scholarship (as well as the paucity of information available).  I know it's from England, because it says so on the barrel.  I believe from the shape of it that it's a post-war model, possibly even from the early 1950s when the company was starting to fly apart.  That's all I've got.  Sad, isn't it?  If anyone wants to fill in this sad hole in my knowledge, my email address lies below.

I will say that if you find yourself in a position to get ahold of one of these, it's well worth it-- whatever the fortunes of the company, they were still making excellent points.

Specifications: Medium 14k gold point.  Lever filler.  13.3 cm long capped, 16.2 cm posted.

Condition: Very slightly matte surface from years of duty.  No brassing.

Repairs: Replaced sac and realigned tines.

Location: My collection.

For sale?:
No.
