Parker Vacumatic pencil

Slim pencil with alternating black and gold rings, and gold fittings

A pencil made to match the Vacumatic pens, but I'm a bit fuddled as to the date.  The lack of a date code militates for it being a pre-1938 model, but the arrow  clip indicates a post-1938 model, so you can understand my confusion.  It's a small object, 4 5/8" long and about 3/8" around.

Not much of a description, I grant.  I'm somewhat cool on pencils-- if I have the matching pen, it's a good thing to have, but a pencil in isolation doesn't move me to much glee.

Specifications:  1.1mm lead.

Condition: Body plastic in excellent shape, with a clear body impression.  No sign of brassing whatever.  The eraser has gone hard and somewhat greasy.  The mechanism works smoothly, but there is a bit of slipping between the outer body and inner (a picture of the opened pencil here), which requires a little squeezing of the upper barrel when turning for best results.  There's a little ambering on the lower body, on the side with the impression.

Repairs:  Nothing.

Location:  Leeds, Staffordshire.

Sold for $38
