This pen is an odd
sideline of an odd line-- the England-only branch of Duofolds.
The only essential difference between this and the Junior
Duofold is the size,
with the Slimfold being even smaller-- it was apparently meant as a
women's pen, a notion which still had some currency (amongst Parker's
designers, at least) in the 1960s. The funny thing is, the
Slimfold is actually a little wider than the "Thin Model" Sheaffers of
the 1950s, which were never suggested as particularly feminine.
This is likely due to the demands of the aerometric filler.
One of the aspects of the British Parkers which frequently draws
comment is the brilliance of the points. As is the case with the
Junior, this one has a startling
huge glob of tipping on it, and it writes with amazing smoothness.
Something I think needs commenting upon, as someone else has
discovered it, is the odd and counterproductive placement of the cap
vent-- it's less than a centimeter below the clip-ring, which means the
point is guaranteed to dry out. Two examples among the vast
numbers no doubt produced don't make for a definite flaw-- we could
both have part of a hungover-Monday output, after all-- but it's
something to watch out for.

bilingual!) gold

a chip out of the mouth of the cap. One vane is lost from the

without effect on function.
