A recent release from Parker, this is... not a great pen. It was
clearly meant to compete for the European school pen market, against
such things as the Lamy Safari and Pelikan Pelikano. I suspect it
didn't do so well-- the Safaris I've had anything to do with is a very
robust item. This is not. The cap is easy to press too
firmly into place when posting or capping, and is thin and brittle
enough to crack when this happens. The image above shows a crack
directly under the clip.
For all that, it's a very inexpensive pen when you find it, and for a
first fountain pen its a good choice. The point is smooth and
free-flowing, and as far as a writing experience goes, I've had worse
from more expensive pens. I don't want to leave you with the
impression it's a bad pen, but I suspect you won't find a lot of functional ones ten years on.
Specifications: Medium nib. Cartridge filler. 14.2cm long capped, 15.5cm posted.
Condition: Cracked cap mouth. Otherwise in very good condition-- which it should be at its age.
Repairs: I may see what I can do about stabilizing the cracks. Update: They can be fixed, if you think it's worth the effort, with a bit of model glue. I had a night free to experiment.
For sale?: Go find a new one. Or, frankly, find a better
pen. I'll not sell this one. You don't want it. Trust
me.
